“FOR WHAT IS RIGHT WITH YOU,

UNTIL YOU CAN’T GET IT WRONG.”

United States National Swim Team member for 5 years and a Masters swimmer with 26 world records, Jerry Frentsos decided long ago that the best way to invest in his future was to live Intentionally Well while remaining forever Athletically Driven.

Those choices have allowed him to swim competitively on a world-class level over the past five decades. In his books, Jerry presents the science and facts on how NATURE and NURTURE support proper training, recovery, hydration, nutrition, and sleep, which together foster a balanced relationship with your body, mind, soul, and spirit, maximizing the performance and economy of your health to become more human.

A SPIRIT OF COMPETITION

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jerry swam competitively alongside his five brothers. He gained national attention as a high school sophomore by winning the 400 IM at US Junior Nationals, earning a spot on the US Junior National Team. Two years later, he earned High School All-American gold status and finished third at both the Spring and Summer National Championships. From 1984 to 1988, as a member of the US National Teams, he consistently ranked among the world's top 15 swimmers, reaching a high of third. In 1986, Jerry earned the title "U.S. Open National Champion," and in 1987, he captured a gold medal at the Pan American Games.

In 1988, while qualifying to represent Greece as an Olympian in the 400 Free, 100 Back, 200 Back, 200 IM, and the 400 IM, he was not known for taking the easy way or shortcuts. He passed up that opportunity for a shot at his real dream of becoming a United States Olympian. He placed third at the United States Olympic Team Trials, making him the first alternate for the U.S. Olympic Team. Although he missed the team by only 18 hundredths of a second, he proudly watched the 1988 Olympics, knowing that his previous performances would have placed 6th in the 400 IM and 7th in the 200 IM at the 1988 Seoul, Korea, Olympic Games.

While it may have felt like a setback at the time, it only fueled his passion for his future physical, mental, and emotional performance.

A Lifelong Commitment to Wellness

Achieving peak performance through living Intentionally Well and being Athletically Driven has only fueled his passion for continued success and for helping others realize their dreams.

Jerry earned a Master's Degree in Nutritional Sciences and completed his Dietetic Internship at the prestigious University of Cincinnati Hospital & Medical Center. His graduate thesis was published in the peer-reviewed scientific Journal of Sports Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism.

As an adjunct professor, Jerry taught graduate-level sports nutrition courses at Xavier University. He later became the Wellness and Fitness Coordinator for the U.S. Police Corps, a high-end police academy funded by the State Department. Soon after, he served as the Sports Nutrition Director at the U.S. Naval Academy and conducted extensive clinical nutrition work at the Naval Hospital Center.

“My life’s greatest achievement is to teach others how to become their own coach.”
