“It’s in your DNA.”

DNA is both simple and complicated when it comes to…

 Nature vs. Nurture

For example, when it comes to eye color, the DNA is very simple, as eye color is determined by 100% Nature.

100% Nature, 0% Nurture

But, as we move onto height, the DNA formula becomes a little more complicated, as it is 80% Nature, 20% Nurture
(based on sleep and nutrition).

80% Nature, 20% Nurture

Based on the study, “Meta-analysis of the heritability of human traits based on fifty years of twin studies” (Journal of Nature Genetics), the meta-analysis of 2,748 studies involving more than 14.5 million pairs of twins found that the average nature-versus-nurture influence on most human traits is nearly balanced at 49% nature and 51% nurture, with some apparent exceptions in athletics. The analysis also showed that heritability estimates for muscle development and use range from 30-85% genetic influence versus 15-70% environmental influence.

Now it's complicated…

Myth: Strength is associated with muscle mass.

Human Truth: Bigger muscles do not equate to bigger strength.
