#19 vs. #20

On Day 3: #19, you learned that I traveled halfway around the world to Melbourne, Australia, to break a world record. While the attempt was successful (breaking the world record by 16/100s of a second), it felt more difficult than it needed to be. (And something was wrong!)

7 days after #19, I traveled halfway around the world back to Washington, DC, to attempt #20, but this time I wanted to find and fix the problem.

The problem: I was wasting precious heartbeats.

While the chronological time from Washington, DC, to Melbourne, Australia, was 25 hours and 54 minutes, the biological perception of time was 31 hours and 6 minutes. With an average heart rate of 58 beats per minute, the biological trip to Australia was 6 hours longer than it should have been.

The solution: Slow down my Rate of Living.

Because the chronological time difference between Melbourne, Australia, and Washington, DC, was 25 hours and 12 minutes, the biological time was 23 hours and 12 minutes, as I consciously and subconsciously decreased my heart rate to 41 beats per minute.

Wasted 6 hours of my biological life.
Saved 2 hours of my biological life.

The biological time difference was more than 8 hours!

Day 18: Seven Days to help prepare for the best and to be the best is filled with biological saving tips and suggestions that helped me break my 20th world record by 1.39 seconds.
